| The creation of a large, natural park, the Park of the Nebrodis,
would assist this process in addition to creating an opportunity, not easily repeatable,
for promoting a campaign of environmental education, with the aim of recuperating the
potentialities of the entire area.
The creation of a Park should be considered in a wider prospective: not limited to mere
conservation but with an aim to the development of woody areas. The extensions of forests
to counteract the reduction of oxygen end the overheating of the earth’s atmosphere
has become a real emergency of our era, the solution to which is not to be limited only to
the attempts to save the ecological inheritance of Amazonia and Cameroun.
In brief, if mankind would only stop considering ecology and the protection of historical
centers and of the environment as foolish utopian ambitions and would being to accustom
itself to considering them as compulsory parameters of our daily actions and designing
will, it would realize that this choice can only enhance the quality of life and benefit
the over-all economy.

The land of Nebrodis is also a citrus
garden (orange-trees, lemontrees, and tangerins) and they also stand out for the variety
of flowers. The Nebrodis are land of shepherds. We can find many breedings expecially
horse-breedings of which the one in San Fratello is the most Important; it’s an
excellent breed of horses that has mantained its characteristics through the years. |
